Victorian non-locking store door latch set in decorative cast iron, circa 1880. Store door latches were made to withstand heavier use than residential hardware and usually had a thumb latch style handle both inside and outside for easier access. Escutcheon plates measure 9" x 2" with a 3 3/4" high handles. The exterior handle is off-set to allow easier access when pushing the door inward or open and mounts with bolts coming through from the inside of the door (included) which keeps the handle from being removed from the outside. Complete with restored, reversible latch with plain iron face and strike. Restored and complete with mounting screws.
