A wrought iron Carpenter entry rim lock, circa 1830 - brass seal reads "No. 60 Improved Rim Lock" and features a spread wing eagle as shown below.  The Carpenter patented mechanism lifts up and down instead of moving in and out, hence the cutout keeper.  This lock body only measures 7" deep x 4 1/2" high x 7/8" thick without the keeper which mounts on the door jamb and measures 1 1/2" and is trimmed in brass - signed Carpenter and WR under the crown which places the lock within the reign of William (W.R.) between 1830 and 1837.  Lock is right hand only and non-reversible.  Lock is restored and complete with original narrow neck brass knobs measuring 1 3/4" diameter.  Brass oval escutcheon measures 1 7/8" x 1 3/8" and  1 1/2" brass rosette are our own replacements.   Complete with one original key.  Knobs are presently spaced to fit a door 1 5/8" thick, but can be modified for other door thicknesses upon request in the Comments Section when ordering.  Comes complete with slotted mounting screws.
