Heavy horizontal cast iron rim lock, patent date Mar. 30, 1869
showing on left hand side below, manufactured and signed by Russell & Erwin
on the right hand side seal. Measures 3 1/2" high x 4 1/2" deep without the 1" keeper.
Lock is reversible with the new patent allowing the latch to be reversed without
opening the lock. The latch pulls out of the lock and turns in either
direction for handing preference and becomes stationary when the lock is
mounted. Restored to black finish and complete with cast iron trim
key including escutcheon, rosette, and original brown mineral door knobs as well
as one key. Night latch at top of the lock
allows you to lock the door knobs for privacy without using the keyed
bolt. Corners are decorative along with additional linaear decoration.
Backset is 3 1/2" to knob center. Ready to install - comes with slotted screws.
