Antique open work wrought iron surface mount plate latch, circa 1750 - 1800, called a keyhole latch due to it's shape resembling a keyhole on it's side.  Latch measures an unusually large 6 1/8" x 3" without the keeper and is accompanied by early original narrow-neck brass knobs measuring 1 1/2" in diameter.  The original rosette is included.  This type of lock is not reversible and is right hand only and knobs are presently spaced for a door 1 1/4" thick but this can be modified for your door thickness upon request in the Comments Section when ordering.  Latch is in very good condition, all original, as found.  Original keeper measures 3 1/4" high x 7/8" wide shown to the right of the lock. Original patina on knobs and rosette.
